At least its pretty... I guess. Yay, spring.

Where is this? I’d take my skis out for this.... but more likely snow blower

Yuck! At least it’s not snowing 8"-12" of tarantulas. I mean snow is bad and ice is worse, but imagine trying to get through your day, crawling through a foot deep flood of tarantulas everywhere. That would definitely be worse than snow.

Northern Vermont. Jay Peak is probably awesome right now... Though it is a bit heavy and wet-ish. Probably better texture at altitude though.

Ooh that looks nice, we are getting rain here. Debating going up to Bretton Woods in New Hampshire tomorrow, but the forecast is looking a bit warm, and I’m not sure I want to be driving 2.5 hours to play in slush, or if the forecast is a little off, even rain. The mountains closer look to be significantly less promising.

I’m just annoyed, as I evicted the Kona from the garage to get started on some spring building projects, and now I have to move it to plow the driveway :p
![]() 03/22/2019 at 14:46 |

Yeah, I can see plowing being a pain. Do you really need to go anywhere in the next week? Maybe just wait for it to melt :)

What’s snow?

Ha ha, currently 50+ and sunny in Montana. I’m going for a bike ride on DRY ROADS!!!!

I don’t want it here... but I want it...

yes I do, also FedEx and UPS won’t deliver to the house if our driveway isn’t plowed, it’s about 200 yards long and on a slope.

Over here by the lake, it’s been snowing steady all day, but any of it has yet to stick. I’m so thankful for the extra 2-3 degrees!

I’m surprised they don’t just throw it at the end. Guys here sometime just leave it on a wall by the driveway ent ra nce. Earlier this week UPS left an envelope in the mailbox, which I’m pretty sure is actually illegal (though far from the worst place they could leave it).

D epends on the driver. T he regular guy will leave it, but the semi-regular guy will leave a passive aggressive note about the driveway.

Don’t worry there are still probably 5 snow storms coming between now and summer.

It’s been mid 70's and sunny this week I’m the PNW! I’m going mountain biking on Sunday

I was disappointed by winter in Indianapolis this year. Only one day all season to go drive around in fresh snow, but at least it fell on a weekend. At my last job I could take a snow day any time I wanted, but those days are long gone.

It’s ok we are expected up to 3 feet, and have already have 35+ ft this winter.

S hifting it off the driveway is PITA. It’s too pack-y to snow-blow effectively, but it’s also heavy and sticky, and the ground isn’t hard frozen any more so pushing it off with the bucket is hard to do without gouging up the dirt :p
Also, had a power blip that ruined a 90% finished 6+hour 3D print i’m working on. :p

I bet yours is light and fluffy, this shit is almost as heavy as water :p
I can’t find records that are local enough to be relevant, but we’ve probably only had 10 -15 feet this winter.

They call it sierra cement here for a reason. We average 305" a year at the elevation my house is at. Biggest year I’ve see is over 650+”....for a while we were catching up to that but doesn’t look like March will deliver.

We may have had more than I think... Jay Peak is closing in on 500 inches this season, and in nearly the same micro-climate, b ut higher elevation.

Yeah once you get over 15ft it kinda just all blend together, The other day i was getting ready to go to work and trying to decide if i should blow the driveway first, and decided it was only a inch or two which is all it looked like from the window
.....so i’d be fine...Got in the car pulled out of the garage into almost a foot of snow....I said f it an drove up to work.

Are you still stuck at work at 9 on a Friday?
![]() 03/22/2019 at 21:19 |

I’m always stuck at work... such is the farming life. I fed the house-lamb 20 minutes ago, I’ll feed him again around 10:30 , a t midnight tonight I feed the barn-resident bottle lambs, then cram as much as possible into the house-lamb, go to bed , wake up at 8am and do it all over again.
